02/02/2008: Lust, Caution
Lust, Caution is showing this week only at the Hyde Park Picture House.
A Venice Golden Lion winner, Lust, Caution is the latest work from Ang Lee (BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON). Set in occupied Shanghai during the Second World War, the film is a political thriller, a melodrama and a dark tale of obsessive love. A young woman, Wang Jiazhi (Tang), is persuaded to join a plot against government minister and Japanese collaborator Mr Yee (Tony Leung), but she fails in her mission. Years later she gets a second chance; she successfully seduces Yee and they embark on a passionate affair.
