08/11/2007: Duel Project Release

After almost 3 years of waiting, The Duel Project has finally been released over here. The Duel Project, as the name might suggest, is two films from two directors made with the same basic set of rules. The idea of the project was to see who could create the best film using the same basic plot and the same restrictions. Both directors had to create a film with only two main characters and only one location with a plot of "a fight to the death", oh and all in only a week. Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Azumi) brings us Aragami, which sees a master samurai take on the god of battle, while Yukihiko Tsutsumi brings us 2LDK two young actresses sharing an apartment fighting over the same role, yep its the ultimate cat-fight. Basically what we have here is two awesome short films (brought together as they should be)on one DVD that for some bizarre reason were previously only available as separate DVDs and even then only as imports. This is definitely one to add to your collection people!
